The institute offers a two-year full time Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management. The programme is recognized as equivalent to MBA by the All Indian Council for Technical Education (AICTE) - an autonomous body under the Ministry of HRD, Government of India & the AIU (Association of Indian Universities).

It is a noteworthy fact that the PGDBM students of the institute has gained wide recognition from the industry by the sheer dint of the efforts of the 2500 CMDians.

Selection Procedure
Candidates aspiring to join the institute’s PGDM programme are required to appear in Management Aptitude Test (MAT) conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA). The candidates have to apply to the institute simultaneously. Candidates who have taken CAT or GMAT can also apply for admission to CMD. The candidates short listed on the basis of their score in MAT or other such tests undergo group discussion and personal interview at CMD. The evaluation criteria include communication skills, leadership qualities, conceptual ability, decision making capabilities. The candidates successful in these tests are offered admission in institute’s PGDBM course to be further developed as excellent management professionals.

CURRICULUM
For systematic learning, the programme is broken into four semesters, each comprising of a set of detailed courses. The curriculum is imparted through the interdisciplinary thrust and participatory learning experience.

Since knowledge and skills are subject to an accelerated rate of obsolescence in a rapidly changing environment, curriculum design at CMD is dynamic. To take this into account, periodic syllabus review is undertaken. The curriculum last revised and approved by academic council in July 2004 has inputs from industry through professionals and our alumni, as well as, renowned academicians from IIMs and FMS (Delhi), etc.

Accordingly, students also receive focused inputs about emerging fields in management domain. Some of these are: ERP® module, Customer Relationship Management (eCRM), Retail Management and eRetailing, Supply Chain Management, Rural Marketing, Insurance and Actuarial Science, Computerized Financial Packages, ISO 9000 and QS 14000 Specifications, etc.
